The strangler spirit ! — scarynightstory
This story is told to us by Vishal.
Let’s know what had happened that night, in Vishal’s own words.
Me, my brother Mohan and his friend Anurag stayed in Amaravati at Gadgnagar area on rent. It was just a week since we had rented a new room to stay together.
First week was non happening.
Then the days became eventful. An awkwardness and a strange uncomfortable feeling always remained at the bottom of our hearts and we did not know the reason why we felt like that.
Then one or the other began to notice something strange about the house. Sometimes we all had the feeling that there was a fourth member present in the room, but we could not see him or her. As if an invisible existence was trying to make us feel it being around us.
Most of the times I heard the footsteps coming upwards. i used to prick my ears. But nobody followed the sound of the steps. That made us all upset. Sometimes a feeling disturbed us that we were observed, stared at by the eyes we could not see. We felt suffocated in the open room. The word ‘privacy’ was worthless when one was in the room, because we all knew being alone in the room did not mean the privacy we wished for. We were watched and stalked by and we could do nothing about it.
Once my brother was called by a girl and the girl was nowhere in the room.
We realized that an unknown presence was giving us hints that it doesn’t like the room to be shared by us.
This continued and happened frequently.
Once Anurag returned late night after enjoying a party.
He sprawled himself on the bed. In a few minutes he drifted off to sleep. Suddenly a feeling of pressure on the chest woke him up. He woke up but noticed nobody and still felt of some invisible hands strangling him. He could neither breathe nor shout. In a desperate attempt to save himself he shook off his hands and legs forcefully. Mohan was sleeping near him. He got hit by his leg and woke up to see Anurag striving hard for breath.
Mohan was frightened too. He was clueless what to do to save his friend. What is more, he saw a human figure sitting astride on the chest of Anurag. For the first time the invisible existence had taken a concrete form to warn us. It was the figure of a girl. She was moaning and with all the might she had, she was strangling Anurag. Her nose and eyes were streaming with blood. Her eyes and tongue had come out of their place.
It was a dreadful sight.
God knows how Mohan managed to pull himself together, but he was the first to recover from the shock of fear and the first move he did was to reach for the leather belt of his pants that was hanging on a peg. He got thebelt and began to hot the girl with it.
She vanished in a wink of an eye.
Though it seemed that she was not there, we could feel she was in the room.
Anurag started crying. We tried to comfort him. His voice was shivering, he was trembling with fear.
None of us could sleep that night.
Next day we went to the house-owner.
He listened to us but brushed it off as if we were cracking a joke. But we had decided to leave the room. We tried to go to the roots of the matter but our house-owner avoided to talk with us on that issue.
We went to our neighbors to get the clue. They told us that five months ago a girl had commited suicide by strangling herself. We understood that it was she who was sitting on Anurag’s chest and strangling him.
We immediately vacated the room.
